Proper NC-UV0609MAX-II grating strip replacement restores X-axis positioning on this 600×900 mm industrial UV printer. The machine prints 0–180 mm height, uses Epson 13200-U1 white, 13200-U1HD color and 11600-U1 varnish, runs CMYK+LC+LM+LK+LIK+W+V at 720×600/900/1200 dpi, FlexiPRINT MiniServer 22, 470W, AC 220/110V, negative-pressure eco UV ink, 25–28°C / 35–65% RH. The encoder strip works as the carriage ruler; scratches, ink, dust or misalignment cause ghosting, homing errors or carriage faults. Replacing it with a genuine Nocai strip returns stable readings.
Preparation
Power off, unplug and verify grounding. Wear antistatic gloves. Move the carriage to the middle of the beam through the panel, driver or FlexiPRINT. Prepare an OEM Nocai grating strip, screwdriver, tweezers, lint-free wipes, ≥99% isopropyl alcohol and photos of brackets. Do not touch the sensor or X-axis limit switch during preparation.
Remove the old strip
Loosen the top or side cover screws per the manual, then release the strip brackets. Slide the old encoder strip out of the sensor slot slowly to avoid bending it. Inspect for scratches, ink mist, grease and slack tension. If only dust or ink causes errors, clean with alcohol in one direction and retest before replacement.
Install the new strip
Fix one end of the new OEM strip, route it straight through the encoder sensor slot without twisting, then secure the other end. Adjust upper and lower screws so the strip stays centered in the sensor gap; the carriage must move without scraping the strip. Keep the strip parallel to the beam and away from printheads, cables and the UV lamp area.
Homing and accuracy test
Power on and move the carriage left or right; the control panel should show positive X-axis values that increase smoothly without jumps. Run Auto Cleaning, then print a nozzle test and an alignment grid. Measure printed size against design size. If drift remains, recenter the strip and clean the sensor slot. When readings are stable, the NC-UV0609MAX-II grating strip replacement is complete.
Post-replacement care
Clean the encoder strip with alcohol in one direction weekly, keep the sensor slot dust-free, and avoid touching the scale with bare hands. Service rails, ink station and suction platform per the manual, use only Nocai eco UV ink and original parts, and maintain 25–28°C / 35–65% RH.
