Photograph the strip ends, card brackets, reader position, and X-axis limit switch before removal.

Do not touch the engraved scale with fingers. Loosen the strip-card screws or end brackets gently. Slide the old strip out of the reader sensor slot first, then release both end fixtures. Recheck that numbers or reference marks face the correct direction if the OEM part is directional.
Homing and Accuracy Test
Power on and run the homing sequence; the carriage should move to the origin and return correct X-axis readings. In FlexiPRINT, print an alignment chart and a small grid pattern; measure printed size against the design size. If margins drift or ghosting remains, recheck strip centering, tension, and reader cleanliness. When X-axis readings are stable and output size matches, the NC-UV0406-VI grating strip replacement is complete and the printer is ready for production.
